Monica Huerta Receives Region 9 Eminent Engineer Award

Dr. Monica Huerta (Ecuador Section) was awarded the IEEE Region 9 Eminent Engineer Award for 2024 for R9. In the 50 years that this award has taken place, she is only the second woman to receive this recognition for her contributions in the fields of telemedicine and for helping those that suffer from degenerative disorders.

Luis Kun, President of the IEEE- Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT), commented, “on behalf of SSIT, it gives me great pleasure to congratulate Dr. Monica Huerta for her outstanding contributions and for this recognition as the recipient of the IEEE Region 9 Eminent Engineer Award for 2024.”
