Our Society’s Board of Governors has recently approved updates to the Society Constitution. These updates have been approved by IEEE Vice President (Technical Activities). The changes from the current version are shown in the document. These changes will go into effect on January 19, 2025 unless 40 or more members object by 11:59 PM January 18, 2025 US Eastern Time. Any objections can be emailed to ssitfeedback@ieee.org.

IEEE SSIT Field of Interest
To facilitate understanding of the complex interaction between technology, science and society, including impact on individuals and society in general, ethics, professional and social responsibility in the practice of engineering, science, and technology, and open discussion of the resulting issues.

SSIT Governance Documents
SSIT revised the Society Constitution and Bylaws in 2016.
The “Field of Interest” in Article II Section 1 of the Constitution was subsequently updated and approved on 11 May 2022.
