We have local groups, called chapters. There is a list below, and also you can find these via IEEE’s regional map structure.
SSIT is currently represented internationally by more than 30 Chapters/Joint Chapters spanning 16 countries as listed below. “Chapters” are local groups with an interest in a specific IEEE Society, such as the Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT). A chapter can be “stand alone” (formed with 12 or more interested members) or can be a “joint chapter” with another or several other IEEE Societies.
The Chapters are expected to hold a minimum of two technical meetings every year on topics in the SSIT field of interest. Please visit our Distinguished Lecturers page for potential topics and speakers.
To contact a Chapter, either send an email to the Chapter Chair, or visit the Chapter’s website/webpage by clicking on the Chapter name (note: currently only a few Chapters have their own website or webpage).
To find the contact information for SSIT Chapters:
- Go to https://rosters.ieee.org/home.html.
- Sign in using your IEEE credentials.
- In the left panel, expand “Societies.”
- Under Societies, select “Society for Social Implications of Technology.”
- Choose either “Chapters” or “Student Branch Chapters.”
- The contact details will appear in the right-hand column.
