Dr. Heather Patterson

Heather Patterson is a postdoctoral fellow at the Information Law Institute at New York University, where she researches changing social norms regarding personal expectations of privacy.

Her current focus is on health apps and wearable self-quanitification sensors, and particularly, how individuals’ contextual information sharing preferences should inform privacy-protective social policy. She holds a JD from Berkeley Law and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Washington.
