Overview

The Ethics in Innovation and Design interactive workshops were developed in response to invited Ethics guest sessions intended for engineering students in the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering (Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences) at the University of Wollongong, Australia. The course is titled Innovation and Design and the most recent session was delivered on 26 May 2025.

Session Format

The session introduces ethics in the context of innovation and design, where an ethics and related concepts is provided, and competing perspectives of sustainability and feasibility presented in the form of a ‘challenge’ where individual, organisational and societal tensions are unpacked.
