The IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) is proud to announce that two of its members, Robert Dent and Philip Rubin, have been elevated to the prestigious rank of IEEE Fellow.
Robert Dent’s Fellow citation is “for leadership in enriching the history of electric power industry and contributions to its technology.”
Philip Rubin’s citation is “for contributions in speech synthesis and analysis, neuroscience, and ethics of research and technology.”
The IEEE Board of Directors confers the title of Fellow upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in IEEE-designated fields, who has made important individual contributions to one or more of those fields. The total number of Fellows selected for elevation in a year is limited to 0.1% of IEEE Higher Grade membership.
