Abstract

Artificial intelligence is increasingly embedded in organizational life, yet understanding its implications requires more than technical evaluation. This talk brings together three perspectives on AI in organizations. First, it argues that AI must be understood as a sociotechnical phenomenon, where explanations are shaped by organizational roles, work practices, and institutional contexts. Second, it shows that trust in AI develops through iterative interaction and negotiation, rather than as a fixed outcome. Third, it considers the broader implications of AI integration for work, relationships, and human experience in organizational settings. Overall, the talk emphasizes that making sense of AI requires attention not only to system performance, but also to explanations, trust, and the changing role of AI in organizational life.
