About the Conference

The IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS) is the flagship conference of the IEEE’s Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT).

ISTAS is a multi/inter/trans‐disciplinary forum for engineers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, philosophers, researchers, social scientists, technologists, and polymaths to collaborate, exchange experiences, and discuss the social implications of technology.

Hosted by the Santa Clara University (California, USA), ISTAS25 runs from 10-12 September, and will be live and virtual.

Registration Opens February 24, 2025

Early registration opens February 24 at discounted rates and runs through July 31. Regular rates take effect August 1 and continue through September 9.

Special rates are available for IEEE and SSIT members, as well as Santa Clara University faculty and post-secondary students from any institution. See more details on the Registration page.
